Douglas does that sort of character so, so well.siochembiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11487373396181856763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4751168318018401735.post-57358923009916624562012-07-19T23:43:42.031-04:002012-07-19T23:43:42.031-04:00Good review. If you haven't seen it yet, Douglas gets to play another big, brash, unlikable character in Ace in the Hole.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4751168318018401735.post-41979250838439556492012-07-15T22:44:39.467-04:002012-07-15T22:44:39.467-04:00I actually can't remember which I saw first, t...I actually can't remember which I saw first, this or The Player, but they would make a great double feature. Not just what he does, but just how telling everyone's response is.

From everything I've heard, it wasn't exactly challenging for Kirk Douglas to play a raging megalomaniac.siochembiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11487373396181856763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4751168318018401735.post-41094325806676514252012-07-15T22:33:39.175-04:002012-07-15T22:33:39.175-04:00This is a powerful film. It's such a harsh skewering of Hollywood and of the people that it's hard to have sympathy for anyone involved. I see this as more of a character study than a plotted film, but it's a great character to study.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.com
